7 Top Tips to Creating Your Compelling Vision
Nov 12, 2024
In chapter 1 of my new book, “Getting Your People to Step Up”, I talk about the importance of having a compelling vision, something for your people to believe in.
If you’ve never done this before, or if you think your vision for your business is unlikely to really motivate your team, here are my 7 top tips.
1. Reflect on your personal values, passions and beliefs to gain clarity on what truly matters to you.
2. Actively engage in new experiences and activities to explore your values, passions and beliefs in action.
3. Ask for feedback from family members, friends, colleagues and mentors.
4. Know why your business exists.
5. Know your long-term vision for your business.
6. Have a clear understanding of what differentiates you from your competition.
7. Create a compelling vision that can inspire and motivate your people to contribute to the vision’s success and have them feeling they are part of something meaningful.
Remember, your vision is a living thing. Keep sharing it with your people. Keep talking about it and get your people to keep talking about it.
You simply can’t have enough conversations about your vision and how to keep working towards it each day. Never get sick of talking about it.
