How to tell disengaged vs engaged employees?
Feb 27, 2023I get asked this question frequently. We can see the signs when we observe people. Below is an example of how to see the differences
The actions we take once we have made the observations are key. Here are 3 ways to combat this:
1. One reason could be a lack of training. Do a skills assessment and if there is training that would help a number of people, create that opportunity for them
2. Provide positive feedback. People want to know they are seen and heard, especially the highly productive ones
3. Be there to listen. The employee may be having personal issues around health, family or money that is not directly related to work. Be there for them without being a full time councillor.
